Family Re-union
This weekend we went to visit my mother. I rarely see her due to certain circumstances. We have had a rocky relationship to say the least, but I still love her...she's my mother. My father is once again out of the picture which makes talking to her so much easier and nicer. I am hoping that this time she has the common sense to stay on her own. I was very surprised when I saw her this time. I know that she is getting older and that she is losing her strength and verve but I am really worried about her. My fiancee helped to emtpy some planters on her balcony. She was very pleased for that. We had coffee and talked and looked at family photos, some I hadn' t seen. It was nice. We talked about my impending wedding and she gave me a garment bag for my wedding dress along with a couple pair of shoes. I mentioned to her about the rest of the family and the hopes that my brother and nephew may want to attend? She gave us my nephews number. I think we brightened her day and she had a laugh or two....which was great! I just hope she will be able to attend my wedding next summer. She had phoned me twice last night. The last call she said she had a headache and was going to bed. I called her first thing this morning. She had talked to my brother and to my surprise he wants to attend the wedding. It just proves that it is never to late to try and get the love back in a family...if you just try.
